Hi friend :).
This is my first post in December. Sorry to leave you hanging. I was thinking I might take December as an unannounced blogging sabbatical but what do you know, I feel like posting tonight :).
But can I be frank? The past few weeks have knocked me off my ass a little bit. Is it still taboo to admit that as a 26 year old woman I have to deal with these things called raging hormones? Or as someone who lives in the Pacific Northwest, deals with deficiencies in the Vitamin D department and is impacted by seasonal blues/depression/bla-bla-bla call it whatever you want? Anyways, you get the gist, not going for pity points and not trying to overshare, just trying to keep it real. And I know for a fact that I am not the only one who deals with this stuff, it’s called being human :). I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I am NOT Pollyanna Glad all the time, and frankly, wouldn’t want to be <3. BUT I am definitely on the upswing and feeling a little bit more “myself” every day, so yay! Probably why I feel like blogging tonight :).
Now that that is out of the way shall I get to recapping?
I woke up late. Like, 11:30 late. It was magical. God bless husbands who let you sleep in.
We eventually made it to the dog park. It was surprisingly sunny. Still EXTREMELY muddy! We got some great pics at the park and of the self-service puppy bath after :). Oh and I TOTALLY slipped in the mud and full on banana-peal style went horizontal while running at the park LOL. It was pure physical comedy. I haven’t laughed that hard at myself in a long time, it was freaking hilarious. How did we get so lucky with this goofball of a dog? :).
After we bathed the dog I went to Grocery Outlet to get ingredients to make Latkes! We went to husband’s company holiday party that night, and naturally I had to make latkes. The house still kinda smells like them… Not to toot my own horn, but I make a damn good latke. I don’t peal the potatoes, and I think that makes all the difference. Plus the skin is where all the nutrients are… because latkes are SO healthy 😉
The usual. Chores and prepping for meals for the work week. I listened to 3 running podcast episodes and “She Works Hard for The Money” On blast on repeat. It was the exact perfect song.
Alright, here’s to another work week (ready or not). Looking forward to spending New Years in Portland with my sisters and family is pretty much the only thing getting me through the 8-5 grind. I am terribly homesick and can’t wait to be reunited with them 🙂 (see you soon!! ❤ ❤ <3)
