Oy, did I ever need to listen to this book. I’m exploring and discovering Dr. Brene Brown’s research and writing in reverse, But I guess I am cool with that! You can read my notes on her latest book, Rising Strong, here.
Theoretically, everything is “fine”. I just hit a rough patch. What can I say? Anxiety is a bitch. In this book, Brene talks about a point in her career in academia where her body’s response to anxiety was dizziness. Lately, I have gotten myself worked up and anxious enough to the point of nausea, cold sweats, and flu-like symptoms. NOT COOL, yo. So, I fully acknowledge that something has gotta give. Somethings, really.
Anywho, this book is spot on. So many head nods. Very relatable. If any of you dear readers are perfectionistic, recovering perfectionists, trying to appear like you have your shit together, trying to convince yourself that you do have it all figured out, constantly feeling the desire to do more, be more, be better, make more, people please, etc. etc. THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU, friend :).
It is much shorter than Daring Greatly and Rising Strong, so no reason not to give it a quick read or listen! ❤
