First day in Phoenix, Arizona

Hi there πŸ™‚

Currently taking a break from the sunshine in the comfort of the A/C of Grand Central Coffee Station.

I arrived in PHX yesterday afternoon. This  impromptu trip was 100% the right decision.

I feel as grounded as a desert flower in full Spring bloom.

I’m staying with my best friend Rachel, soul sister really, and her partner Celina, who I’m realizing quickly is also a soul sister.

They live in an adorable Duplex in Tempe, and just built a seriously swoon worthy chicken coop πŸ™‚ Seriously impressive.

Rach had Derby practice so I went on a 4 mile run. Then Celina and I got some good chill time and she made a BOMB Lebanese lentil soup.

It went perfectly with Rachel’s homemade Challah. Homegirls can cook!

They also have a sweet garden with an abundance of kale. I’m going to make my Kale + Chickpea salad later (recipe in the food tab).

We ate dinner and started the Amy Winehouse documentary (one of my all time favorite documentaries which they haven’t seen yet). They are being kind enough to host me while I crash their work week- so we paused the film so they could get to bed at a reasonable hour.

Gah. Seriously feel so at peace here and in their company. I feel very lucky and happy and proud to be associated with such cool individuals. I just feel like I’m myself, if that makes any sense at all.

Woke up this morning to coffee made, and helped myself to a fat glass of their fresh squeezed grapefruit juice while sunbathingon the back patio. πŸ™‚

Now I’m back at this coffee shop, after walking to a nearby park. Some pics of the short excursion:

More of this perfect lil vacation to come!

πŸ™‚ ❀
