Weekend Recaps

{Weekend Recap #28} Lincoln City Getaway :)

Hi there! 7 days away from marathon (eek!) and this relaxing getaway was exactly what the Doctor would have ordered.

Left town around 2. My boys (swoon).

We got to Degarde around 4:30. It’s husband’s all-time fave Oregon brewery, so it was a special treat for him.  Even though Tillamook is an extra 45 minutes north of Lincoln City, it is well worth the extra car time.

The Purple was a special on-premis only beer (and tart and sour and delish).

We got a bottle of The Truffle to go.

We stopped at a little Jetty on the south end of town before checking into the Salishan Lodge to get some energy out.

Husband surprised me when he took off Barley’s leash and played driftwood fetch!

We checked into our room at Salishan Resort, which was right by the main lodge and overlooked the gorgeous golf grounds

Full disclosure: Salishan really gave us the royal treatment in exchange for blogging about our stay! The wine, card, and fruit platter went above and beyond- I was so impressed!!

We enjoyed the wine while unpacking and making ourselves at home.

The gas fireplace was my favorite room feature and really heated the whole space! This reaffirmed are need for a gas fireplace installation in our out of commission fireplace at home.

  • We relaxed, relaxed, and relaxed all evening. πŸ™‚

Watched some modern family and fell asleep relatively early.

Woke up at 7:30 and went for a 4 mile run on the Salishan Spit via the Resort’s Nature Trail to a private drive. Unfortunately I left my phone in the room so couldn’t snap any photos, but trust me when I say it was breathtaking! The beach was pristine and has a very secluded feel. It’s so cool to see shores that are almost completely undisturbed by human footprints.

After a post-run shower we enjoyed a late breakfast at probably my favorite place to eat in the entire state of Oregon: Otis Cafe! πŸ™‚ The absolute best.

After breakfast we did a little shopping at the Outlets. I’ve been in the market for a rain jacket for running and found one at Eddie Bauer for $19! Score!! I ended up eating it almost immediately because surprise surprise, it was a little rainy at the coast ;).

Stopped back at the Jetty for more fetch. Definitely our new Lincoln City “spot” πŸ™‚

When we got back to Salishan we went swimming and hot tubbing. The women’s locker room even had a sauna that was actually HOT! Score!!!

We watched the first half of the Ducks vs Tarheels game at “The Attic” bar on the second floor of the lodge.

My cocktail was their house sangria with peaches. It was -no joke- SO GOOD.

We ordered room service for dinner and watched the second (heart breaking) half in the room.

They put up such a good fight. Just couldn’t make those 3 pointers in the last 5 mins. Oh well. Still love my ducks!

Checked out of our room around 10 am. Thank you Salishan! We absolutely loved our stay!

We’ll definitely be back again.

We stopped at our new lil Jetty spot one last time before heading to Drift Creek Falls Trail for a gorgeous hike.

I’ll save the hike photos for a separate post, but include one teaser photo πŸ™‚

I will never ever forget this weekend. It was honestly one amazing thing after another.

πŸ™‚ ❀
