20 Self-Care Practices to Combat Stress


  1. Tempo running.
  2. Yoga. Specifically, tree pose with hands in prayer.
  3. Drinking enough water.
  4. A phone call with my sister.
  5. Listening to music or a podcast while doing house chores.
  6. Day dreaming about future goals, trips, etc.
  7. Getting lost in a good book, show, or movie.
  8. Short morning guided meditation.
  9. Brushing the tangles out of the dog.
  10. Rearranging furniture
  11. Timing the mile at the local middle school track.
  12. Not seeking approval from anyone but myself.
  13. A piping hot cup of Joe.
  14. Trail Running.
  15. Cleaning out the Jeep/Organizing the trunk.
  16. Walking the dog through the park and neighborhood.
  17. Baking Challah or cooking dinner.
  18. Sleeping in on Saturday.
  19. Baths instead of showers.
  20. Writing.
